story starts with my Nani and Poppa, my grandparents (as seen on my label and below)
emigrating to America from
Calabria, Italy over 100 years ago. They brought
with them only their hopes, dreams, and
great Italian Sausage recipes with old
world techniques
. I am proud to be a third generation Italian-American sausage maker that plans to carry on our family
traditions forever! A few other proud
moments include
"Best American Made" from the Wall Street Journal, "America's Best" from the Los Angeles Times, and "Best Gift to Give" from Everyday with Rachael Ray. We
take great pride in making our salami the same way my grandparents did: in small
batches, using only the finest hand trimmed pork, spices ground moments
before blending, tied with pure cotton twine, stuffed into natural casings and
hung to dry- not cooked.
This has been closely compared to the aging of a fine
wine.
Every salami has a unique flavor and aroma! At Fortuna's our passion is making only the very best salami and keeping our old world values, flavors, and traditions
alive. Our niche is
all natural salami- they didn't use nitrates and
preservatives in the early 1900s and we certainly do not need to add them
now!

The Fortuna Family, Patti, her husband Paul, and son, Chris, are third
and fourth generation sausage makers originally from Rhode Island, and
now located in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Fortuna's uses the same
recipes as Patti's grandparents used who emigrated from Calabria, Italy
in the early 1900's.
Each Italian sausage and salami recipe has been passed down from
generation to generation. Fortuna's pride themselves on true old world
Italian sausages and salami, handcrafted, and uses only the finest
ingredients and unique old world drying process to achieve lean and
delicious artisan dry cured sausages that are all natural and nitrate
free and made in the USA.

How do I return an item?

Refund/Return Policy:
Original sales receipt must accompany
returns.
We accept returns for exchange or
refund 7 calendar days after delivery of the product. At our sole discretion
after 7 calendar days, we will offer an exchange or store credit only. Items
must be in "new, unaltered and unused condition". Definition of new,
unaltered and unused condition is:
-without
showing signs of wear or damage in any way
-within 7
calendar days of the delivery date (after 7 days no returns are allowed)
-must not be
a special order or a custom order
-unless noted
that it cannot be returned or has a different return policy time
period other than that 7 days noted in that item's particular item
description.
If an item is received damaged or is
incorrectly shipped by us please contact Customer Support immediately. Items
that are defective and shipped from us or items that you did not order but
received from us will qualify for store credit or a cash refund.
Refunds are contingent upon inspection of
item(s) once we receive it.
There is a 15% restocking fee for
returned items that are not being exchanged and are not damaged. Again you MUST
contact us within 7 days if you intend to return ANY item back to our store.
Items returned to us AFTER 7 days and WITHOUT contacting us will NOT be refunded.
Customer is responsible for all shipping
costs if seller is not at fault.

Our story starts with my Nani and Poppa, my grandparents emigrating to America from Calabria, Italy over 100 years ago. They brought with them only their hopes, dreams, and great Italian Sausage recipes with old world techniques. I am proud to be a 3rd generation Italian-American sausage maker that plans to carry on our family traditions forever! A few other proud moments include "Best American Made" from the Wall Street Journal, "America's Best" from the Los Angeles Times, and "Best Gift to Give" from Everyday with Rachael Ray. We take great pride in making our salami the same way my grandparents did, in small batches, using only the finest hand trimmed pork, spices ground moments before blending, tied with pure cotton twine, stuffed into natural casings and hung to dry- not cooked. This has been closely compared to the aging of a fine wine. Every salami has a unique flavor and aroma! At Fortuna's our passion is making only the very best salami and keeping our old world values, flavors, and traditions alive.
Our niche is all natural salami- they didn't use nitrates and preservatives in the early 1900s and we certainly do not need to add them now!
