Imported Provolone from Italy. Extra sharp and perfectly aged. Provolone piccante is aged for a longer period of time and has a stronger, sharper taste.
Wonderful in antipasto, with any of our salamis or just on crackers. It originated in the southern region of Basilicata but is now produced all throughout the country. The curd is heated using hot water until it becomes stringy and then formed into its distinguishable shape. It is then dipped in brine, coated in wax, and hung to age. Then hung to age for year or longer

I have waited too long to have such a pleasing flavor Experience. Again this too brought me back to the aromas of the Italian markets that populated Shrewsbury St in Worcester during the 1940s, 50s, 60s.
